While we're talking about The Carbon Copy, please join me in congratulating him - today he received the news that he got a FIRST in his Maths degree at Warwick. Champagne all round, or would be, if he drank.
Stuck-in-a-Book's results next week...
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment - my favourite part of blogging is reading your comments!
Annoyingly, Blogger often messes up with comments... try refreshing, or commenting Anonymously (add your name in, though!) or using Firefox/Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. (Ctrl+c your comment first!)
Failing everything, email me: simondavidthomas[at]yahoo.co.uk - or just email me anyway :)
Thanks!
Gorgeous view. And congratulations to The Carbon Copy! Excuse me, but may I ask is there such a thing as a second, or third? What does that mean?
ReplyDeleteThere are indeed! Grades comes 1st, 2:1, 2:2, 3rd, pass. So he did rather well :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Carbon Copy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to carbon copy -- great achievement (speaking as someone who got 20% in maths O-level after a year of private coaching). The view is lovely -- which bit of Somerset are you in?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the explanation! I'd read of firsts, but never knew exactly how it all worked.
ReplyDeleteYou're not near the Blackdown Hills, are you? (My parents-in-law live in Luppitt.)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea, Karen, but apparently we are about 15 miles away, according to Dad! I've only lived here a couple of years, and spent most of that at university, so I still don't know these sorts of things...
ReplyDeleteHarriet-we're in a village called Chiselborough, which noone has heard of! Near Crewkerne, if that rings any bells.
Congratulations to the Carbon Copy! For American visitors, I think the equivalent of a First is "Summa cum laude" (with the highest praise / honour"): perhaps someone could throw some light on that?
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view. It looks so quiet and peaceful. Congrats to the Carbon Copy--I take it he is not as fond of books as you are?
